Semi-detached

Semi-detached converts Irish Sea water into fog, and injects this Irish border into a confused living room. The piece uses an active-installation to reflect the uncertainty and confusion surrounding geographic politics and the northern Irish border, post Brexit. It physicalises the tension re-entering Irish homes. A tension that seemingly disappeared with the invisible border, but is becoming more visible as the uncertainty continues.

The carpet was specifically chosen and made by Ulster Carpet Mills in Armagh, Northern Ireland. The same Mill that produces the carpet fitted in Buckingham Palace, and Belfast City Hall. (More Images Below)

Semi-detached was selected as part of the RDS Visual Art Awards, and the Global UA awards.
