If only the walls could talk

If only the walls could talk is a video piece that brings national borders into the domestic. Filmed a house on the Irish border, it becomes a conversation between a home and systems that surround it. The fluctuation and uncertainty of the border between the northern and southern Ireland bleed into the mundane of the house. The house was built at the beginning of the 20th century, standing through two periods of two nation states. But now empty of people it's left to echo its past. Exchanging the humans for unmoving walls, these barriers speak to the nature of the border in Ireland, and its concrete ties to the country.
